Zambia Import Note
For Zambia, No hard limit, but vehicles over 5 years pay a specific age-based surtax..
Step 2
Contact our sales team to discuss the vehicle. We will provide a detailed cost estimate including all fees and answer any questions you may have. Once you are ready to proceed, we will send you a formal sales agreement to sign.
Step 3
To secure the vehicle and allow us to bid on your behalf, a commitment deposit is required. This is typically a percentage of the vehicle's estimated final cost and is fully refundable if we are unsuccessful in winning the auction for you.
Step 4
Our expert team in Japan will bid on the vehicle on the auction day up to your agreed maximum budget. If we win the auction, we will notify you immediately and handle the purchase from the auction house on your behalf.
Step 5
Upon purchase, we manage the vehicle's de-registration in Japan and arrange for the mandatory pre-export inspection required for your country. We then book it for shipping on the next available vessel to the Port of Dar es Salaam.
Zambia Import Note
All vehicles must pass a mandatory roadworthiness inspection by JEVIC-approved agents (like JEVIC) before shipping.
Step 6
Once the vessel arrives in Dar es Salaam, our agents handle transit clearance. The vehicle is then transported to the Nakonde border for final customs clearance with the ZRA and local registration.
Zambia Import Note
You will need your Taxpayer Identification Number (TPIN) for this step.
Step 7
After the vehicle has been cleared and registered, you will be invited to make the final payment. We can then arrange for final delivery to your location in Zambia.
Here is a summary of the taxes administered by the ZRA for imported vehicles.
A tax of 25% is levied on the Customs Value of the vehicle.
